Hay Bales

The small field outside my studio window has provided me with some delightful subject matter, this week it's hay bales for this small study. I've taken loads of photos for those long winter nights of painting.

Girls At The Beach

Oil on canvas panel - 6" x 8"

I have always admired plein air painters, it's something I have not done very much of at all, I guess because I have prefered the comfort of my studio and I really do not like being out in the sun. Since moving house and having the convenience of so much around me to paint directly it's something I hope to do more of. I must admit to finding the whole experience very strange ...but I'm quite pleased with my first effort this year.
