Duck

oil on primed card - 4" x 6"
sold
The weather has been dreadful these past few days with icy winds and persistant rain, most of the time walking anywhere is not a pleasure. There is the odd break for an hour or so when the winds drop, the rains stop and the sun breaks through giving a welcome window of bright light. I took advantage of of one such respite and took a walk along the riverbank where I spotted this duck wading in the shallows.

Riverbank, Cois Li

oil on primed card - 4" x 6" Unframed
available
A new amenity walk has been opened near to where I live. The original path along this small river was always muddy and overgrown, a dumping ground for everything from builders rubble to dead animals. The transformation is a most welcome asset to the town. While there are no dramatic or grand sweepng views there is much to catch the eye and delight the senses. I'm sure it will be the inspiration for many future paintings as it has been for this one.
